Basic Strokes and Rescues
This is the recommended starting point for all kayakers. Our ACA certified instructors will provide you with a thorough, safe, and enjoyable introduction to coastal kayaking.

In this class, we cover kayak terminology, proper fit and adjustment for effective boat control, entering a kayak from shore, effective ‘wet-exits’ in the water, how to perform solo and assisted rescues in deep water. Plus, we even cover basic strokes and maneuvers to get you on your way.

Strokes and Maneuvers Refinement
This is a natural follow-on to our "Basic strokes & Rescues" course. In this session, we'll assist coastal kayakers at all levels in refining basic strokes and maneuvers. The overall goal is to practice the strokes and maneuvers to increase efficiency, fluidity and control.

Skills covered: forward and reverse strokes, sweep strokes, beam and skulling draw, skulling for support, low & high braces static brace turns, bow & stern rudder, side slip hanging draw.

Prerequisite: Basic Strokes & Rescues
Duration: 6-7 hours (9am-3pm)
Cost: $99.00, which includes kayaks and all gear
