Jackie Smith, an avid kayak fisherman, might be more easily recognized as a member of the 1994 Pro Football Hall of Fame.  Jackie brings to kayak fishing the same determination and dedication that he used as a receiver, punishing blocker, fierce competitor and excellent runner.  He played in five Pro Bowls, 1967 – 1971; All-NFL 1967, 1969; had 40 or more catches for seven seasons; played in 210 games and was a leading tight end receiver at retirement with 480 receptions, 7918 yards, 40 TD’s.  He also played in Super Bowl XIII with the Cowboys.

For the past several years, Jackie has been on the Hobie Kayak Fishing Team as part of the company’s marketing, sales and public relations effort. His abilities on the field, in the kayak and on the marketing end of his new career all combine to create an interesting and delightful character.
This symposium is proud to introduce Jackie Smith to Mid-Atlantic kayak anglers and as our keynote speaker during the dinner meeting for the attendees of the 2nd Mid-Atlantic Kayak Fishing Symposium.
