Proper gear may be the deciding factor
in whether an event, instructional class or trip, is deemed
successful or not. Being an established leader in the paddling
industry, Wild River Outfitters Touring Company takes pride in the gear and equipment that we offer to
our guests. With over 80 kayaks in our "fleet", you can be sure that you'll be paddling
a current model that is comfortable, stable,
and efficient on the water.
The "boat" is only part of the total paddling experience. With
comfort in mind, we'll properly fit you with one of the latest
paddling PFDs (Personal Flotation Device) from Lotus Designs. For
paddles, we offer lightweight carbon fiber or fiber glass paddles
from Aqua Bound, Swift and Werner.
For our instructional classes, in addition to boats, PFDs and
paddles, we'll provide each guest with a set of safety equipment: a
paddle float, bilge pump, and rescue sling or "stirrup".
As we demonstrate and practice rescues, you'll see for yourself why
it's essential to have these safety items with you as you venture
out on the water.
Will you be doing an overnight
or multi-day trip with us? If so, we'll provide Dry Bags, charts
and chart cases, lights for night paddling, and any other items
essential for an extended paddling trip.
Of course, Lead Guides
and Instructors for all of our events will always carry a First Aid
kit, a mobile/cell phone, two-way radios, spare paddles.... and any
other items necessary for the particular event.
